The region

Around La Maison Rose, you will discover a region of exceptional beauty and variety. The charming and gentle inhabitants who still live a simple life bear witness to the quality of our unspoilt region.

To the north lies the Vercors National Park, a huge undulating massif of forests, moors, craggy peaks, cliffs and gorges, hosting a wide and spectacular variety of flora and fauna.

To the south, Les Trois Becs, a magnificent syncline, and the rock of Saillans. With it's summit of 1589 metres, it makes a spectacular and unforgettable daywalk.

Along the valley lie the beautiful 'perched villages', ancient carved stone houses in glorious surroundings.

There are village markets every day of the week somewhere in the Drome valley, and flea markets and antiques fairs in summer.

Walkers are in their element - the GR9 and GR95 pass through Saillans, and there are thousands of kilometres of marked trails in all directions. Mountain bikers and road cyclists flock to the area for the wide variety of trails and routes, as easy or as tough as you like.
